2010  

Fortress Founded

We were founded in 2010 as a humble one-man, home-office show.
2013  

First Office

We outgrew the spare room and got our own space in Chicago.
2014

Team Expansion

Among our first few hires were a designer and a project manager.
2019

Brian Urlacher Logo Design

Working with some Chicago legends, including the great Brian Urlacher, is something we are proud of. Bear Down always.
2020

First Podcast Recorded

Our first guest of Making the Brand was Ryan Weldon, founder of 13th Bridge Games Studio.
2020

Fortress Acquires Buck Agency

We merged with Buck Agency, marking a major milestone and growth point.
2020

Expansion into Legal Sector

The successful rebrand of Walner Law served as the launching pad for our legal services lane.
2020

Fortress 10 Year Anniversary

We invited clients, family, friends, and even a magician to celebrate 12 years of Fortress.
2021

First Branded Building

We have named and branded several high-end real estate ventures. The Emerson at Bay Creek in Madison, Wisconsin was the first one.
2021

First Telly Award

Our trophy case started with a video promo project we did for Southern Illinois University titled "It's Our Turn."
2022

Fortress Markets Mayoral Campaign

We brought Kam Buckner's Chicago mayoral campaign to the world with an Emmy-nominated launch commercial and tons more.

Second Team Expansion

The more the merrier.

Office Expansion

More team members meant more space to collaborate was needed.
2023

First Fortress Billboard

Rush hour commuters in Chicago got to meet the whole team.
2023

Private Equity Firm Launch

Fortress partners to launch Woodson Equity, a lower-middle market private equity firm.
2024

Emmy Nomination

The "Son of Chicago" production for Kam Buckner was nominated for an Emmy in the Chicago Midwest chapter. This was a cool moment.

Entering the AI Space

Translating complex tech into clear strategy for our first AI partner, Bloom Learning.
